Science Related Topics that Complements Scripture

All topics, in this science area, are written in layman's terms to open the Christian's mind that science and the scriptures do not contradict one another.

These are three of many fascinating scriptures that prove the origin of the scriptures is from God.

Psalms 8:8 The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. Written approx 3,000 years ago
Verified discovered in 1854 AD
Genesis 9:4

Leviticus 17
Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
It is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall not eat any fat or any blood.’
Ancient books that God states not to consume blood.  We know today that blood of Animals may contain harmful bacteria
Job 38:16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep? Oceans do contain fresh water springs

Paul Davies Comments

A few quotes from Paul Davies, an English physicist amongst many other accolades, from a secular point of view:

"There is for me powerful evidence that there is something going on behind it all... It seems as though somebody has fine tuned nature's numbers to make the Universe... the impression of design is overwhelming."

Scientists are slowly waking up to an inconvenient truth - the universe looks suspiciously like a fix. The issue concerns the very laws of nature themselves. For 40 years, physicists and cosmologists have been quietly collecting examples of all too convenient "coincidences" and special features in the underlying laws of the universe that seem to be necessary in order for life, and hence conscious beings, to exist. Change any one of them and the consequences would be lethal. Fred Hoyle, the distinguished cosmologist, once said it was as if "a super-intellect has monkeyed with physics".

To see the problem, imagine playing God with the cosmos. Before you is a designer machine that lets you tinker with the basics of physics. Twiddle this knob and you make all electrons a bit lighter, twiddle that one and you make gravity a bit stronger, and so on. It happens that you need to set thirty something knobs to fully describe the world about us. The crucial point is that some of those metaphorical knobs must be tuned very precisely, or the universe would be sterile.

Example: neutrons are just a tad heavier than protons. If it were the other way around, atoms couldn't exist, because all the protons in the universe would have decayed into neutrons shortly after the big bang. No protons, then no atomic nucleuses and no atoms. No atoms, no chemistry, no life. Like Baby Bear's porridge in the story of Goldilocks, the universe seems to be just right for life.

"It may seem bizarre, but in my opinion science offers a surer path to God than religion."

"Science is about explaining the world, and religion is about interpreting it.  There shouldn't be any conflict."

There are many people who possibly would disagree with Paul Davies in his beliefs, while stating Paul Davies comments are theories that don't prove anything.

When this author is reads Paul Davies' comments, it is very clear that he is expressing only his observations from a scientific viewpoint, that there is evidence pointing to a designer that is God.

In a wonderful video from Jordan Peterson, entitled the Death of God, these are paraphrased points being made:

  1. With the death of God in the views of atheists, then Science dies also.  This was not expected by anyone.
  2. The reason why science dies when believing there is no God, is the mistake that science is actually a religious practice.
  3. Science is predicated on religious axioms:
    (a) There has to be is a thing which is truth.
    (b) The truth is understandable.
    (c) Understanding the truth is good.
    (d) There then has to be something that is good.
  4. When being a scientist, the metaphysical claims are:
    (a) The world is comprehensible to the human intellect
    (b) Investigation of the mysteries of the world will be beneficial.
  5. The metaphysical claims are nested in the knowledge coming out of the scriptures.
    (a) Universities have their beginnings from Monasteries that studied the scriptures.
    (b) Science got it start in the universities.

White Paper Documents that are Theories based on Theories

It is amazing when this author reads some (not all) scientific summary documents (also known as white-papers), that start with a theory, and then proceed to add on more theories as if they are facts to prove the first theory is true, which is absolutely hypocritical.

The pattern is something to the affect of introducing a theory and then adding of additional theories, where the writer will state since the second part of the theory is plausible or provable, then the first theory must be plausible and therefore true.

White Papers dealing with Evolution, Cosmology, Chaos Theory and Others

When reading white paper documents that are dealing with evolution, cosmology, chaos theory, and so many areas, this author would state:
  1. Not all white papers, in the forefront areas of research work, use the "theory followed by more theories" approach to state something occurred or is factual.
  2. This author always takes the approach to respect the research work done in the scientific community no matter if there are theories based on theories.  Actually great discoveries, in this author's opinion, come out of collaboration work and others researching areas based on theories proposed that find sometimes related and unrelated truths that reveal the Designer God.
  3. Factual information, in this author's opinion, always reflects a Designer God.

The best option on reading white papers dealing with evolution, cosmology, chaos theory, and so many areas that can have conflicting or derogatory information against God is to realize that any factual information actually confirms a Designer, which is God.  This is what Paul Davies is stating.

Some Science Topics and Scriptural Technical Topics

The topics below reflect research that has been summarized by this author:

God was and is absolutely required to have created everything, always needed for everything to exist and the greatest privilege in our lives is to have a relationship with God the Father, the Son of God Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit.  Our relationship with God is because of what Jesus Christ has done for us to make it possible.  If you haven't asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior, do it now.
