In the Days of Creation, all life was created in a two day period.  Dinosaurs were created on Days 5 and 6.

Day Scriptural Reference Summary
5 Genesis 1:20-23 All creatures that live in the oceans, lakes and rivers created.  All creatures that fly created.
6 Genesis 1:24-25 All creatures that walk and live on land created.

Dinosaur fossils can be found buried in the ocean floor and on top of mountains.

  1. A Plateosaurus, that is believed to be able to grow up to 29 feet long and weigh 4 tons, was found 7,401 feet below the seabed, which is the world's deepest found dinosaur fossil.  This was in the Snorre offshore oil reservoir area that in near Norway.  It was found during oil drilling operations.   What is interesting is the Plateosaurus is a land based dinosaur that was found under the ocean.
  2. Dinosaur fossils have been found literally all over the Earth, with high concentrations in North America, China, Argentina and Europe.
  3. Dinosaurs fossils have even been found in Antarctica, which is a land covered deeply in ice where there is no secular theory on how dinosaur fossils are found there other than plate tectonics moving continents where the land in Antarctica was once in a warm client area.
    (a) Note that after the Great Flood, there could have been changes to the land masses on the Earth, because the scriptures speak about the water of the deep being broken up.  Ocean radar imaging shows deep canyons in the oceans that are often called "submarine canyons" that have three mile heights.
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

How Does Fossilization Occur?

Evidence of Dinosaurs existing is because of the fossils found.  Dinosaurs are classified in most resource informational documents as being part of the reptile Ecological Pyramid Chart or Living Organisms Table.

There are several types of categories of fossils:

  1. Impressions on petrified rock material, which only an impression of the animal on hardened rock is left.  The original specimen is not left behind.
  2. The most common method is molding and casting, also called permineralization or petrifaction, where bones and soft tissue are hardened.  Sometime soft tissue, the retained organic material known as petrified living matter, will remain retaining proteins that can identify the specimen's species.
    (a) If the organism completely dissolves it leaves an impression called an external mold.
    (b) If the mold fills with other minerals, then it is called a cast.
  3. Leached carbonization, or distillation, will leave a detailed carbon impression of the organism on to sedimentary rock.

Rapid Burial Required for Permineralization Fossils to Exist

The process of fossilization is described in many scientific sources.  In order for the corpse of the animal or plant, to not decompose, requires a rapid burial of some kind such as:

  1. Covered in dirt or water sediment that is solidifying.
  2. Covered in a Tar Pit along with a natural occurring earth's crude oil type of derivative that may contain dirt and sand.  Famous example of a Tar Pit is the La Brea Tar Pits, where there are many Tar Pits in the world.
  3. Covered in ice, usually under high pressure.

(Note: This previous mentioned list of three areas of rapid burial has more details that be simply researched to understand the processes behind fossilization.)

The requirement for a rapid burial, with one of the three types, can then preserve parts and sometimes all of the original living animal or plant.  If the animal or plant does not have a rapid burial, with a covering of some kind then decomposition will occur by:

  1. Drying
  2. Consumption by animals
  3. Further decomposition by plants and bacteria
  4. Eventual dispersion by wind, rain and other surface area disturbance types

Some other points:

When animal and reptile fossil bones are found and extracted, then a reconstruction of the fossil parts can be attempted where there is not always all of the original bones.  This is very common and additionally the bone fossils can often be cracked and missing parts, which requires the reconstruction to take a guess estimation in the reconstruction where plastic fillers and reproductions are used.

Fossils found are primarily land environmental based animals, reptiles and plants, but there are also fossils of sea creatures along with sea plants.  There are estimates of how many fossils have been found and how many fossils exists, which are proposed to number in the trillions.  Dinosaur fossils are a small percentage of the found fossils.

Extinction Secular Event Theories

Abiogenesis is the name given for the creation of life from non-living matter in a evolutionary theory.   See the topic on "Evolution - Is it real?" for a high-level explanation proof against Abiogenesis.

Most people accept the statement that the large

that are described to be alive are either extinct or they are no longer large.  As an example, alligators and crocodiles are described in scientific theories as being around during the time of the large dinosaurs.

The question often asked, where there are primarily two answers given in secular theoretical documents, is what caused the extinction of Dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs extinction is often, if not always given, as occurring by an exploding asteroid hitting the earth in the vicinity of the Yucatan Peninsula area of the Gulf of Mexico which theoretically caused a cloud of ash to cover the entire earth.  Additionally, the second answer is there was some kind of ecological Earth environment change that did not support the food requirements and size of the Dinosaurs.

The

  1. Theoretically killed almost all plant life and sea plant life that require sunlight as a source for growing, blooming and producing seeds.  The process is called photosynthesis.
  2. Without

.   The event is called a Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event.

Abiogenesis Catalyst Starting Theory

This is an excerpt from the topic on Evolution:

The impossible, illogical and most unscientific explanation of how evolution started which is completely untenable.
Also known as Abiogenesis

A general summary of Evolution states that in the beginning a specific kind of inert dirt or mud, through possibly a lightening bolt, struck the dirt to turn the dirt into an amino acid, where the amino acid bonded with other amino acids to become proteins.  The proteins then had additional bonding with other proteins, amino acids and dirt to construct themselves into a living cell which contains: a cell wall, food absorbing, food processing, waste disposal, defensive abilities to protect the cell and so much more.  With additional energy from X-ray and UV radiation, the cell then duplicates itself into more and more cells to eventually form bacteria and micro-organisms.  These micro-organisms then bonded with other micro-organisms to create more efficient and complex organisms that eventually over time change into all the known life forms on the Earth.  All along the process, the life forms being created, design new features (or take from other life forms through newly acquired ability of mating) and add them in the next reproduction to make more and more complex new creations.

Dinosaurs that are now extinct are given as proof of evolution with only very little evidence of any linkage other than they were previously large: reptiles, fish, mammals and bird-like.
(a) One question of many, is why were the dinosaurs larger than the supposed evolved descendants?  This goes against the NS theories where a larger creature competing for food sources would win in a competition eliminating smaller creatures that can be from the same species.
(b) Also, why would an evolved creature be smaller which goes against the additional evolutionary theories of the ascent of man and other animals that are getting larger?  (Note this bullet point has many excellent creationist books written on dinosaurs which the reader can find such as "Dinosaurs, Marvels of God's design from ICR.)
(c) There is the theory that an asteroid that landed in the Yucatan Peninsula caused the massive extinction of the dinosaurs.  The question should also be asked: "did this asteroid also cause a mass extinction of all life forms including humanoids also?".   The Evolutionist is not pointing out the obvious next step in their theory which means the start of evolution to create all the life-forms on Earth had to start from a beginning point a second time in order to generate all life since the asteroid killed the dinosaurs which would have killed all other air breathing life.   Note: this author absolutely believes in the evidence of an asteroid hitting the Yucatan Peninsula but does NOT believe it killed all the dinosaurs and all air breathing life forms.   The dinosaurs most likely became existent through the change in the Earth's environment after the Great Flood of Noah.

Biblical Extinction Theory

The Biblical theory, which Creation Scientist and this author believe, is the Earth was once covered with a much denser water vapor cloud based which created a greenhouse effect all over the Earth.  With the green-house effect, all over the planet would have nearly uniformed warm temperatures, which would allow animals to live in places like Antarctica.
