As read in several medical sources, in the 16th through 18th centuries sailors on ships, just not the British Ships, had problems because of the lack of Vitamin C in their diet food sources that lead to the disease of Scurvy.  The symptoms were horrific that often lead to death, which historians state often decimated a ship's crew.  Most likely many modern-day education systems, which children and young-adults participate, include the history of scurvy and the cure with taking Vitamin C as the cure that is often taught. 

What is not often taught, is Vitamin C requires other minerals and vitamins to properly replenish our bodies with needed building and maintenance materials.  Understanding the simple requirement of Vitamin C in curing Scurvy should reveal to all of us that simply eating favorite food that taste good is not always going to give the requirements of our body.

Background

At around the age of 16, this author starting taking Vitamin C, E and Beta Carotene daily.  When reaching around the age of 30, additional supplements such as Saw Palmetto, Vitamin D were added.  When reaching around the age of 40, the list expanded to include many others that are listed below.  At 58 years old, the list was expanded and some supplements went on a daily schedule and others taken sporadically. 

When researching MD and Nutritionist web sites, these following points are a culmination and are very important for everyone's health.  You should/may require Doctor approval/consultation along with more refined recommendations:

  1. Eat a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables and proteins.  
  2. Red meat should be limited to a few days a week.  If possible, limit red meat to only a few times a week, substituting red meat with fish, chicken, turkey, and pork along with other types of protein foods. 
  3. Limit or eliminate animal fats in cooking.   As an example, there are plenty of substitute options for butter in cooking such as peanut oil and olive oil.  Absolutely never use Margarine!
  4. Try to stay away from all processed types of foods in favor of natural.  The problem with many foods that taste great is because they contain saturated fat, high levels of sugar and sodium.
  5. Get adequate and routine sleep.
  6. Drink plenty of water.
  7. If able, exercise a minimal of 4 days a week for at least 1 hour which consists of targeting all of the muscle groups in the body.
  8. Take vitamins and supplements to ensure the body is getting what is required that our diet is not providing.
  9. Participate in mutually beneficial interaction with others in your family and friends.
  10. If possible, maintain a routine sexual lifestyle within a committed marriage.
  11. Spend time with God in prayer, worship and study.

Note that there is a lot of information that a person's blood type, may be an indicator how much or what food should be consumed.  This author's blood type is a "O+", where according to research, I accumulated in this document, which contains foods are good, bad and neutral for my Blood Type.  This does not mean the other Blood Types should use this document and also this document is meant for research purposes only.

Summary Thoughts on Vitamins and Supplements

As Christian's it is also very important to be physically fit for other reasons.

According to MD and Nutritionist information, as we get older our bodies become less able to absorb needed vitamins such as B-12, C, D, E and others because our stomach acids are not as strong, we do not have as much stomach acid along with many other contributing factors. 

The predominating research found points to keeping our bodies highly tuned earlier in life to have more ability to absorb needed vitamins and nutrients later in life.  There is no chart or correlation to age vs. absorption that can be used for everyone, as not everyone is in the same status of health. 

Many MD and Nutritionist recommendations recommend consulting your Doctor first before starting a vitamin program.  It is the opinion of this author that this is a very good recommendation, especially for those who are advanced in age, have medical issues and of course any concerns.

Importance of Medicine

Medicine is vitally important and there is no substitute for it when it is required.  All of us have used head ache medicine and potentially different types of medicine to recover from a bad cold or the flu.  Another example is medicines are vitally important for those who are going through cancer.

Keep in mind the mantra of unfortunately the perceived notion of too many Pharmaceutical Companies: "A patient cured is a customer lost.".

A Medical Doctor view of Holistic Medicine

This author heard this synopsis from Dr Peter Glidden and the following is a summary, which this author agrees.

  1. Medical Doctors practice allopathic medicine.
  2. Allopathic medicine, is excellent for:
    (a) Trauma Care
    (b) Military Field Medicine
    (c) Surgery when it is necessary
    (d) Complications of Child Birth.
    (e) Dentistry
  3. Every other kind of medical need, it is ridiculously and danger methodology which is the third leading cause of death in the United States, and may be the number one of cause of death in the United States and in the world.
  4. Only use your Medical Doctor after everything in the holistic method has failed.   Dr Glidden mentions that people would not believe what he and other Medical Doctors have witnessed in their patients recoveries when using the holistic method as primary. 
  5. Holistic methods are always the first and best way at attempting to cure our medical problems.

Mankind and Nature's Predicament

Remember that God make our bodies to function optimally based on the points listed above BUT we are fallen creatures that are subject to the health weaknesses and problems that were inherited from Adam and Eve because of the consequences of rebellion against God.  We are all aware of birth defects, genetic disorders and so much more where there is the belief by many Christian Scientists that we are not evolving but devolving as human beings. Additionally, everything in our environment is not yielding the strength of vitamins, nutrients and benefits to us in health that it once was able to give.  One proof of this is amino-acids found in wheat in ancient relics of Egypt do not exist today.

Some incorrectly correlate technological advancements, longer lives because of medicine and abundance of food choices with vitamins and humans being becoming taller as proof of becoming better.  (For more information on changes in all areas of creation see evolution. )

We have to look for additional means for augmenting and supplementing the food sources for our imperfect bodies. This will help us to be productive and happy in our lives at all ages.

For those who do NOT believe in Supplements/Vitamins

Often, many people will say that vitamins are a waste of money.  These same people will take a tiny aspirin to alleviate a headache or take a prescription that helps them get well.  How is it that one tiny aspirin can do so much but some people cannot believe that a vitamin can also do good?

It also interesting that any of us who have gone with parents, that are advanced in age, to get a check-up from a Doctor, will often have the Doctor suggest B-12 for memory and Vitamin C with E.  Rhetorically, the question to consider is if these are being suggested at an later stage in age for someone, is there any benefits for people who are younger?

The List and Foods to Avoid

Never take supplements on an empty stomach.  Always take them towards the end or after a meal.  To assist in taking vitamins, be in the process of eating something and before swallowing, take some or all of the vitamins in the mouth and then sip something followed by swallowing.

Brands of supplements is very important to ensure potency, quality, and your bodies absorption.  Some Vitamins such as C have several types which may require research so that their is no irritation or upsetting of the stomach.  As mentioned above, consult your Doctor for advice and directions that are best for your health requirements.

Coffee Choice

Be aware of many coffees contains the toxin Ochratoxin A.  The substance Ochratoxin A attacks your bladder and kidneys.  Our bodies see the toxin and grabs fluids to try to dilute the toxin and flush it out of our body.

Probiotics

It is sometimes necessary to take Probiotics for assisting in the body's immune system, wellness and digestion.  Unfortunately, there are many Probiotic supplements, purchased off-the-shelf or internet sources, that are no good because the Probiotic bacteria strains have died. 

There is a verification test for many of the Probiotics types.   According to many internet sources, the test is to take warm organic vitamin D milk in a cup and placing an open Probiotic capsule into the milk.  If the milk starts to form curds or clumps, within an hour or two, then the Probiotic is still active.  There are still some Probiotics, such as Bifdobacterium, that will not turn the milk into lumps so this needs to be considered when purchasing a brand.

It is this author's opinion that the best choice of Probiotics is the refrigerated brands that can be purchased at many vitamin stores.  The optimal benefit is to take a Probiotic in the mid-morning where there has been at least one hour since the last meal and there will be at least one hour for the next meal.

Exercising and Cholesterol

As mentioned above in this topic, from the Christian Perspective, it is very important to stay healthy to honor God as we all are a Temple to the Holy Spirit.  There are many examples of people who have changed their quality of life by simply doing a sustained regiment of exercise that includes all of the muscle groups of the body

Many people, as they get older, stop exercising or only do long slow walks.  Walking is a good exercise but if possible, carry some light weights to combine the time with movements in your arms.  One of this author's favorite examples of staying healthy is Jack LaLanne, who has inspired me a great deal.

For many decades there have been Medical Doctors prescribing drugs to lower Cholesterols without taking into account the vital functions of Cholesterol in the body:

  1. Cholesterol is used in the body for exercising and is required for energy production.
  2. Cholesterol is vital cell membrane integrity.
  3. Cholesterol is required for hormone production.
  4. Sunlight and Vitamin D is used convert vitamin D in absorption and for bone and muscle functions. 
  5. Cholesterol is used in the vital functions of the brain in the area called Lipid Rafts where cholesterol has specialized areas in the cell's membranes that are approximately 50% cholesterol.  These Rafts are essential for brain cell communication.  Without the Rafts, our neurons are jeopardized in communication between each Neuron.  Every time there is artificial lowering of cholesterol we are "potentially disrupting this vital communication" system.  - From Leis K Clarke MD, PhD.

Fenbendazole and Wormwood as a Cancer Preventative and Cleanser

Fenbendazole, according to some news articles, is apparently a potential choice for preventing and also dealing with cancer along with keeping the intestine clean of parasites that are unhealthy.  Some additional articles on cancer prevention, is stating that our digestive abilities become impeded by parasite bacteria as we get older, where Fenbedazole will kill/eliminate these parasites that rob the body of vital nutritional elements that are part of fighting off cancer.

The article suggests using Fenbedazole, the commonly used anti-worm medication for dogs, on a "three days on" and then "four days off" pattern.  The important part is selecting a specific dosage of 1 gram.  Do your own research on this and see if this is something your Doctor would recommend.  

Note: This author has not been diagnosed with cancer.  I do not use a "three / four day" program, but once every few months I will take a dosage as a preventative measure and a way of cleaning my body.   The next day, I sometimes experience a more fluid bathroom purge, where I will take Probiotics for a few days after to replenish the good microorganisms in my digestive system that may be effected by the Fenbendazole.

Additionally, there are some research websites that suggest using Wormwood as a antipatriotic supplement that also has other benefits:

  3. Antiparasitisic method against intestinal worms and other parasites,

  5. Antimicrobial method against bacteria and fungi that can potentially cause infections,
  6. Cancer Treatment that may cause aid in the removal cancer cells, and
  7. General aid to the immune system.

Carnivora

Take some time to read about Carnivora as a supplement to activate your cancer fighting potential of your body.  As we age, our bodies abilities to fight cancer cells dwindles because of the lack of nutrition and chemical enzymes that normally would react to eliminate cancer.

Turmeric Forte

Recently, a cousin of mine who is the same age, where Alzheimer's is present in his side of the families' ancestors, was diagnosed with both Alzheimer's and Dementia at age where it is not normal.  After hearing from my cousin, I contacted a nutritionist friend who recommended using:

Candida Albicans?

Abstract

Preclinical studies of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, showed reversible hepatic effects in animals that received the BNT162b2 injection. Furthermore, a recent study showed that SARS-CoV-2 RNA can be reverse-transcribed and integrated into the genome of human cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of BNT162b2 on the human liver cell line Huh7 in vitro. Huh7 cells were exposed to BNT162b2, and quantitative PCR was performed on RNA extracted from the cells. We detected high levels of BNT162b2 in Huh7 cells and changes in gene expression of long interspersed nuclear element-1 (LINE-1), which is an endogenous reverse transcriptase. Immunohistochemistry using antibody binding to LINE-1 open reading frame-1 RNA-binding protein (ORFp1) on Huh7 cells treated with BNT162b2 indicated increased nucleus distribution of LINE-1. PCR on genomic DNA of Huh7 cells exposed to BNT162b2 amplified the DNA sequence unique to BNT162b2. Our results indicate a fast up-take of BNT162b2 into human liver cell line Huh7, leading to changes in LINE-1 expression and distribution. We also show that BNT162b2 mRNA is reverse transcribed intracellularly into DNA in as fast as 6 h upon BNT162b2 exposure.
