The Scriptural Passage

The key scriptural passage for all Jewish people living in Israel to know before the Tribulation Period starts, which is the second half of the 70th Week of Daniel is Matthew 24:15-22. In Matthew 24:15-22, Jesus Christ is speaking about an event where He gives the command for those to obey it by fleeing to the mountains without stopping to get any clothes or provisions.

15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand), 16 then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: 17 let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house: 18 and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. 19 But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! 20 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a Sabbath: 21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Points of the Matthew 24:15-22 passage

Regarding the Matthew 24 scriptural passage there are four key points that could not have been possible prior to modern-times with Satellite Streaming News, radio and mobile communications.

Jewish people, in the country of Israel, will have the ability to see or hear about the Abomination of Desolation event as it is happening, and will hear about it from others very quickly according to the meaning of Matthew 24:15-22. Prior to the advent of world-wide television, Internet, Texting, Satellite and Radio broadcasting, the question by Biblical Scholars of the past, was how could people know when the Abomination of Desolation event occurs? This prophecy by Jesus Christ let us know that God (with no surprise) knew about world-wide broadcasting from many methods.
The Jewish people in Israel (Judea) are to flee immediately into the Mountains.
The Great Tribulation Period will begin at this event.
The Abomination of Desolation event is how Biblical Scholars have pointed out that the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt in the future.

Those of Israel, that flee to the mountains, will be taken care of by God as read in Revelation 12:1-6 and Revelation 12:13-14, for 3.5 years. Note that "thousand two hundred and threescore days" is 3.5 years, and "a time, and times, and half a time" is also 3.5 years.

Revelation 12:1-6

1 And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars; 2 and she was with child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered. 3 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems. 4 And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child. 5 And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man child. 14 And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Key points of the two Revelation passages

Regarding the two Revelation scriptural passages of Revelation 12:1-6 and Revelation 12:13-14, the five key points give a history of the importance of Israel bringing the Messiah Jesus Christ for the Salvation of all people, that will ever be born, when recognizing and asking Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

The woman is symbolical, where she appears as a sign in Heaven, which is identified by other scriptures and events in history as Israel.
Because of the crown of twelve stars, on the woman, the stars are a reference to the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
The red dragon, without any confusion, is Lucifer who takes 1/3 of the Angels with him in a deception that results in Lucifer being cast down to the realm of the Earth.
The Child born is a Son, who is to rule all nations, which clearly is a reference to Jesus Christ.
The reference in Genesis 37:9 is one of many scriptures that link a description of celestial objects being the man Israel and the Nation of Israel created from the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The scriptures never mix metaphors, figures of speech and analogies.

Genesis 37:5-11

5 Then Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more 6 He said to them, “Please listen to this dream which I have had; 7 for behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo, my sheaf rose up and also stood erect; and behold, your sheaves gathered around and bowed down to my sheaf.” 8 Then his brothers said to him, “Are you actually going to reign over us? Or are you really going to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. 9 Now he had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, “Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” 10 He related it to his father and to his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have had? Shall I and your mother and your brothers actually come to bow ourselves down before you to the ground?” 11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the saying in mind.

As noted above in the scriptural passage of Zechariah 13:8-9, there will 2/3 of Jewish people in the world killed by the forces of the Antichrist. We do not know how many of these 2/3 have Salvation, but the preponderance of scripture leads us to know that God will not give glory to Lucifer and the Antichrist on any victories for those God has preordained for Salvation.

8 In the whole land, declares the LORD, two thirds shall be cut off and perish, and one third shall be left alive. 9 And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

Israel Fleeing from the Antichrist points

When the remnant of Israel flees from the Antichrist, there are four relevant key points:

The scriptures do not tell us the exact location in the mountains where the ruminant of Israel will flee, but the general area is given.
There is a theory by many Biblical Scholars that the ruminant will flee to Petra based on historical events and the scriptural inferences. Note that the historical events are not covered in this topic, but this author may write of them at a later point.
The area location is identified in Daniel 11:41 is approximately modern-day Jordan as this is the area of ancient Edom, Moab and Ammon.
Some Biblical Scholars have the belief, as does this author, that the fleeing ruminant will be praying Psalm 60:9-12.

Daniel 11:41	He shall also enter the Glorious Land [Israel], and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon.
Psalm 60:9-12	9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who hath led me unto Edom? 10 Hast not thou, O God, cast us off? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts. 11 Give us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man. 12 Through God we shall do valiantly; For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.

Other information to consider

Israel's military will be neutralized by the Antichrist before the Abomination of Desolation event.

It is the theory, as mentioned above in this topic, that the first 3.5 years of the 70th Week of Daniel time period will have the Antichrist using the false peace period to convert over many people in Israel:
(a) to follow him
(b) deceived by him; where this will eventually involve their death or even becoming an non-threat by potentially some of the Israeli people taking the Mark of the Beast.

Israel has one of the most advanced military defense systems and trained troops, so removing this threat will require advanced actions.
(a) Prior to WWII starting, Hitler (a type of foreshadowing of the Antichrist) through politics and negotiations in 1933 through 1938 managed to weaken and remove initial pivotal military obstacles in Poland and Czechoslovakia, which was all done with the subterfuge of peace.
(b) The Antichrist will use the first 3.5 years of the 70th Week of Daniel to remove the Israeli military problem. Daniel 8:24-25 states the Antichrist will also use subterfuge of a fake peace to achieve military victories without military actions.

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper and do his pleasure; and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people. 25 And through his policy he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and in their security shall he destroy many: he shall also stand up against the prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Daniel 9:27

27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. ”

Israel possesses nuclear weapons and have publicly stated that they will exercise the Sampson or Masada Option if required as last resort to eliminate the military power, and its source, if Israel was facing an emanate military take-over by a hostile government. This will also require the neutralizing by the Antichrist.

Using rounded numbers of the population of Israel as of 2021, the following chart lists the theatrical numbers of those killed by the Antichrist and those who survive either in Jordan (Petra) or somewhere else on the Earth. The 144,000 Jewish Evangelists are marked by God so they cannot be harmed.

Using the estimated number of Jewish people, with 2021 numbers, those surviving the Tribulation Period is an approximate 2,462,640 Jewish people. These people will be protected and hidden from the Antichrist according to Daniel 11:41 (verse listed above). This will take a fairly large area of the mountains which the theoretical location of Petra could hold the remnant of Israel.

The Fleeing Israelites go to Petra

The proposed and theoretical number of Israelites fleeing the Antichrist is an approximate 2.5 million people. The areas identified in Daniel 11:41 as areas which the Antichrist is unable to control is modern-day Jordan and from other scriptures, the area is identifiable as Petra with the mountains as part of the identification in Matthew 24:16 and the area of Edom, Moab and Ammon.

The location of Petra is described as having:

264 squared kilometers or 102 square miles. There are many major cities in the world that are smaller geographically and have more people living in their city limits.
An elevation of 810 meters or 2,657 feet height
Building and civil engineering established around the 5th century BC
