Armageddon, from the scriptural perspective, is when the world's armies attempt go to war against God. There are two scriptural Armageddon events and God eliminates the armies without a battle that gives Glory to God. |
Three notes:
The following table listing of Psalm 2 contains the theory of identification on Who in the Triune God are speaking. This author first heard about the identification of the Godhead speaking from Chuck Missler. Note there is still the parallel meaning for David's prayer and submission to God.
When reading Psalm 2, keep in mind John 15:26 and John 6:37, amongst many other scriptures which:
John 15:26 | But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about me. |
John 6:37 | All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. |
Psalm 2 Holy Spirit speaking: 1 Why do the nations rage, And the peoples
meditate a vain thing? 6 Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of Zion. Jesus Christ speaking: Holy Spirit speaking: |
The key parts to the Psalm 2, written by King David, are:
John 1:14 | And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth. |
Isaiah 2:19 | And men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake mightily the earth. |
Joshua 10:16-18 | 16 And these five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah. 17 And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah. 18 And Joshua said, Roll great stones unto the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to keep them: |
Revelation 6:15 | And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; |
While Psalm 1 and 2 are absolutely dealing with King David's prayer, the purpose of Psalm 2's original meaning goes into a far greater meaning just like Ezekiel 28:11-19 and Isaiah 14:3-23 started with an Earthly person but was directed towards Lucifer.
There is an additional interpretation theory dealing with the future concerning Psalm 2, by some Biblical Scholars, which this author is summarizing from a few sources, along with adding some additional speculative thoughts:
Matthew 24:4 | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. |
Matthew 24:37 | As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. |
Daniel 2:43 | And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. |
