This topic is dealing with Social Issues which affect others that are around you. Everyone has particular views, ideas and concepts that are important to themselves. It can be hopefully thought that no one wants to force their ways of life on someone else especially if it creates a discomfort or a hardship. Unfortunately, in the attempt to accommodate everyone or specific groups it inevitably will come at the expense of others.
A very straightforward example is smoking cigarettes which has been mandated by law in so many places, like restaurants in an entire city, as required to be outdoors and away from people because those who do not smoke find it objectionable for reasons of health, irritation to the eyes or maybe simply the smell. There are studies that have shown that second hand smoke can cause cancer but the question can be asked if it is right to force a private establishment like a restaurant to abide by a law such as "no smoking" if they want the option to allow smoking inside when the patrons have a choice not to eat at the restaurant. This writer, who is not a smoker, views this as wrong and restaurants should be given the choice. Some disagree stating that if the Restaurant opens under the license of City Governance, then it must obey the ordinances set by the city.
In a generality sense, consider an example of someone who comes out of a system of government which allows freedom of speech, free enterprise, the opportunities to earn great wealth and elect people to represent them in public office. The same person, as history has shown, most likely will have a predisposed disdain or distrust for a communistic government that does not allow these same attributes where additionally there is the possibility for the same person to have disdain or distrust for proponent people who live in a communistic government. The proponent, of the communistic government, can also have a disdain or distrust for the person who favors the other form of government. This in many ways is parallel for the non-Christian and the Christian and how they see and feel about one another.
In the above example of different forms of government, is there benefits for both forms and methods of government? The answer should be absolutely "yes". In the United States as proof is the socialistic principle of taking care of the poor, orphans, widows and citizens who reach an age that they can no longer work but need money and healthcare to survive.
Liberalism, which through empirical observations, suffers from the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics which means it goes from order to disorder in the original intent where abuse eventually happens. In other words, the ideals get more and more liberal and often do not resemble the original design, thought or plan. It is never the other way, and in fact, the opposite of liberalism is conservatism where even conservatism ideas never last long and "decay". In the famous cycle of nations noted by numerous historians, countries that are not conquered will eventually collapse from inside based on ever increasing liberalistic ideals which is a very long detailed study not part of this topic; but, here is a brief summary which is an excellent read.
It is almost impossible to discuss any topic when logic is not relevant. Here are some benign examples based on emotion that are similar to topics you probably have heard:
Without the Holy Spirit in someone's life the philosophies of mankind are always going to be counter to the wisdom and instructions of God. All of us, in some shape or fashion, have made choices that we sometimes know are wrong and other times we did not know were wrong.
Regarding liberalism, which has many definitions when in use regarding someone's politics, religious views, agnostic views and even social interaction views can be a very difficult area to talk about without offending someone. In most cases it is probably best to avoid it but the problem is it is brought up all the time in the Media and in regular conversations where the liberal view is pretty much always the winner because it uses emotion to rule out logic.
A person can always discuss a topic and give an explanation or rationalization why their belief, action and philosophy are correct, righteous and the best. We all have heard some very strange logic to justify beliefs, actions and philosophies. Rhetorically, for the Christian, is the belief or action against what is known as Biblically unacceptable allowed even if it is in a minor perceived area?
Unfortunately, Christians in different places in the world have put different emphasis on what is a major and minor area. For example, in the year 2015:

Every single view that is a known liberal view can be made to not be liberal enough in the media and liberal people's ideas. In every controversial area that countries are facing today, when a liberal solution is presented, the view can be still made to appear as insensitive, racist, sexist, gender phobia or class bigotry. In other words, the liberal thought is not liberal enough.
There have been polls done of the major news media outlets that have shown the political affiliation is overwhelmingly populated with registered Democrats/Liberals. See the section on "Liberal bias" and do a simple find of "Democrat" in this wikipedia link. There are other problems such as trusting the newscast and shaping of opinions that are not pertinent to this topic when there is media bias. The Liberal bias is brought up in this webpage article to point out that a Democrat is a better choice to exploit liberal topics and sensationalize them for ratings versus a Republican who might show disagreement in body language along with comments. Ratings of viewership is the endgame. (In 2016, there is only one major Conservative New Outlet called Fox News Channel which still doesn't not always represent Biblical viewpoints. It is amazing to hear Liberals stating that the other major news media do not have any bias.)
Here are some real-world examples where a Liberal oriented person might express an opinion and then the opinion can then be turned around to make the thought as not liberal enough. Every one of these are topics that have been discussed in the main stream media and not surprisingly the "more liberal" thoughts below have been given air time. The popular thing to do in the media is to sympathize with the "more liberal" viewpoint because it portrays the host or newscaster as caring and then emotional indignation can be aimed towards anyone with opinions that are more conservative, all of which drives up ratings or even votes.

| More Liberal | You are right that everyone should be allowed to enter the United States but I don't think it is right to direct them to a place to live and force them to get a Social Security Identification Card if they don't want one. They may have come from a country where they are used to the government using surveillance and identification information against them. They can work for cash and should get free medical assistance so there is no reason for any identification. Furthermore, if the immigrant enters the country across the southern desert areas or by ocean and is hurt or dies because there is no water or food; or if the immigrant is shot by the police, then the immigrant should be awarded monetarily or the surviving members of the immigrant's family should be given money. We need to construct some sort of assistance system to prevent dehydration, starvation and hazardous entry into our Country. I think too many people are insensitive and are racist because they don't want people from Latin America, Asia or the Middle East entering the country. | |

This list could be expanded to give some very controversial examples. To state the obvious, which unfortunately has to be pointed out, just because an idea is conservative and not liberal does not make it correct. Decisions based on emotions in all areas of life are prone to have negative end results.
