There is only one God and there are no others. Our God absolutely requires a relationship with Him that is worship which is perfect shared love as detailed in the Worship topic.
Our relationship with God should be a moment by moment trust and love for Him that:
This is an excerpt from the
Worship topic: The Satanic World tries to teach everyone falsely how worship is to be conducted, which is always going to be against God. It seems to this author, that when
a pagan culture along with modern-day non-Christian religions, the worship of their god or gods is the opposite method of the God of the Bible. As an extreme example, the ancient Mayans and other similar religions in the American Continents did many barbaric rituals that included human sacrifices. Their worship consisted of:
These four methods have also had their purposes to:
This view of worship of the pagan gods has had an influence in many religions of today that include openly known Satanic Cults. The results have people that do not know the God of Christianity:

The examples of the Israelites from the Old Testament, in times when they collectively abandoned God, had idolatry occurring with false and fake gods are given for us to learn from. They were identified and a focus in a place identified as the "groves". In our current time in history, the ancient evil practices are still occurring in different forms and places, but are ostensibly almost identical in the purpose of idolatry.
God, through the prophets, spoke to Israel to stop the evil worship and practices that includes sex, torture, and murder. The people that rejected the True and only God, are the "created evil", which is often misunderstood. When there is rejection of God, then is the creation of evil occurs, even at the smallest of actions as as read in John 15:5, and God always uses all events for His Glory and His Purposes.
Isaiah 45:5-8 | 5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. 8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it. |
Exodus 34:14 | 13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; 16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. 17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. |
1 Thessalonians 5:14-18 | 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |
John15:5 | I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. |
Any Christian that is vaguely familiar with the Ten Commandments, should know know the first five commandments are dealing with our position and relationship with God.

There are other scriptural references that reinforce the commandments not to have
In Christianity, there are many people that most likely have positive intentions to honor our God, but are doing things that are not to be done such as making statues and having paintings of Jesus Christ for the glory of the earthly item. Also there is one Christian Denomination that puts Jesus Christ's earthly mother Mary in the same level of high regard as God which is absolutely wrong.
Jesus Christ is God, fully God, and God with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Mary is a human-being only and not to be held in the same regard
Note that this author recognizes that symbols such as:
are absolutely honoring to God. In many places, throughout history, there were people that were unable to read and the use of icons and painting were visual aids in the proliferation of the Word of God with God's involvement in our lives.
The difference between the use of religious items is when any of us substitute in place of God something that honors the physical earthly item, statue, or place as requiring worship. As and example when visiting Jerusalem, which is God's City on Earth albeit a battle ground from those who hate God, is to be considered a place that has honored God at different points in history, nothing more, that should make us recognize God in a more significant way. Some people state they feel a sense of peace when visiting Israel as if it is going home after being gone for a long time.
Deuteronomy 5:6-8 | 6 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me. 8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: |
Exodus 23:13 | And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth. |

Many Biblical Scholars have taken the correlation of the scriptural references to the worship of foreign gods in idolatry, that has these points:
Judges 3:7 | And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves. |
1 Kings 15:13 | And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron. |
1 Kings 18:19 | Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel to mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table. |
2 Kings 13:6 | Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.) |
2 Kings 17:10-12 2 Kings 17:16-17 |
10 And they
set them up images and groves in
every high hill, and under every green tree: 11
And there they burnt incense in all the high
places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away before them; and
wrought wicked things to provoke
the Lord to anger: 12 For
they served idols,
whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing. 16 And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. 17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. |
Jeremiah 7:29-31 | 29 Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the Lord hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath. 30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it. 31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart. |
In modern-times, we all have similar activities going on that many people do not understand is still occurring but in different forms.
The following is an excerpt from the topic on
sex: A very subtle temptation that all of us are potentially capable of wrongfully desiring and participating, is the use of sex to feel worshipped or worship someone along with possibly many others. We sometimes hear in confessional types of interviews with people in elite positions of power, sport figures or actors which describe the elation of euphoria that they became addicted to when having sexual experiences with their employees or fans because it was in a position of being worshiped. As Christians know, the scriptures are clear about the use of sex is to be in a relationship between a husband and wife, where there are many potential consequences for the incorrect use of sex, which are partially discussed in the topic on Adultery that deals also with committed relationships between two people who aren't married. The act of feeling worshipped or giving worship in a sexual experience, is something that seems to be never discussed in the Christian community's commentaries, sermons and Bible Studies, which is why it is important to have this part of this topic. Some points:
Sexual experiences, between a man and woman in a committed relationship, will be guided by God to experience all of the positive benefits that do not include wrongful worship that are only to be given to God. |
